New guidelines were released Monday from the President and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) regarding the spread of COVID-19. They urge self-quarantine and social distancing to slow the spread of the virus and to ensure that enough hospital beds and medical staff will be available to fight this pandemic.
Effective immediately, Missouri River Energy Services (MRES) has made the following changes to comply with the new guidelines and to keep our employees, members, and the general public as safe as possible:
- MRES will close our facilities for the next 15 days (effective 3/18/20 through 4/1/20) so employees and their families can self-quarantine to protect their health.
- All MRES employees whose positions allow them to work from home will be required to work from home and will be available to take member calls.
- A few key personnel will remain in the headquarters office in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to support operations, finance, IT, and emergency response.
- Distribution maintenance crews in member communities will continue to perform essential services only.
- Power plants will continue normal operations using alternating crews when possible.
- MRES staff will not make any member or customer visits during this 15 day self-quarantine.
- We will be in contact with members soon about Annual Meeting webinar details.
MRES continues to monitor the COVID-19 situation and will send updates as guidelines or restrictions change.
We ask members to please be patient with the MRES staff as we navigate through these unknown waters. We will make every effort to provide you with the information and services you need during this uncertain time.
