Missouri River Energy Services (MRES) announced the promotion of Tim Blodgett to the position of Vice President of Member Services and Communications, which brings with it several additional roles and responsibilities. Blodgett’s position is part of an organizational restructure at MRES that combines various functions of three departments after the retirements of two long-term employees.
Blodgett currently serves as Vice President of Member Support, overseeing smart grid technology services, leadership development and strategic planning for members. His position will be expanded, effective May 12, 2023, to include management of energy services, proactive maintenance, communications and strategic planning for the organization. Blodgett will report directly to Matt Schull, who will take over as president and CEO of MRES on May 12 also.
Blodgett joined the 61-member joint action agency on Feb. 28, 2022, from Hometown Connections, Inc. (HCI), where he served as president and CEO for over 20 years. At HCI, Blodgett managed the development and implementation of multiple energy-related products and services to publicly owned electric, water and gas utilities. He also provided consulting and facilitation services in the areas of strategic planning, executive coaching, utility assessments and governance training to public power utility executive management and governing boards.
“Tim has been a huge asset to MRES since he joined MRES a year ago,” said Tom Heller, MRES president and CEO. “We are excited to expand his scope of responsibility and leadership for the company. His broad knowledge of the electric industry and extensive experience working with public power utilities provides great value to MRES and its members.”
